[ Patient Education] Want to quit smoking? We can help!

Tobacco is extremely addictive.
Studies have shown that tobacco can be harder to quit than heroin or cocaine!
Chewing
tobacco gets you hooked on nicotine, similar to the way cigarettes do.

To successfully walk away from tobacco,
it is best to get medical help from your doctor and ask for support from your family, and friends.

Your Community Health Center can offer you quitting medications and professional counseling:

bullet

If you are uninsured, you can receive your quitting medication free of charge!

bullet

If you are on Medicaid you can obtain Chantix® with a prior authorization.

bullet

If you are insured you can choose whether to use your insurance or to take advantage of the special Community Health Center medication pricing.
Whichever option is less expensive.

bullet

You can receive professional counseling sessions by telephone (up to five sessions lasting 40 minutes each)
