Getting into Gear for 2014
Several strategies of outreach and enrollment have been implemented in Utah to help inform Affordable Care Act (ACA) coverage expansions. Association for Utah Community Health obtained a Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) outreach grant to fund the training and support of AmeriCorps members working to assist with Medicaid and CHIP enrollment. The enrollment specialists are located at clinic sites and are available at each stage of a family's application process. It has been found that children in families who received enrollment assistance were more likely to have coverage for accesseing preventive care than children at clinics where enrollment assistance was not provided.
