Course description:
What: An 8-session Medical Spanish course taught once a week through video-conferencing. Classes include role playing, medical terminology and learning key phrases in Spanish.
When: Classes are held Thursdays, from 12-1 p.m.
How: Students participate in the course through video-conferencing with an instructor teaching from the University of Utah UTN Suite.
Who: Health professionals with a basic knowledge level of Spanish.
Costs: $60/participant for AUCH members
$85/participant for non-AUCH members
Course materials (see below), $8 - $12/book
Any applicable UTN bridging fees
Course requirements:
- Be able to connect to the course through video-conferencing. Contact the Utah Telehealth Network (801-585-2426) to test your equipment.
- Minimum of two participants per site to maximize course learning theories.

*This book is not included in the course costs, but can be ordered from the University of Utah Health Sciences Bookstore, Amazon,or other similiar sites for $8-$12/book.

- Week 3: Well-child check-ups
- Week 4: Diabetes
- Week 5: Cardiovascular Diseases (Hypertension, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc.)
- Week 6: Respiratory Diseases (Asthma, COPD, smoking cessation, lung cancer)
- Week 7: Men's Health
- Week 8: Medications and Pharmacy
