Overview
In 1990, Community Health Centers, Inc. (CHC) received Federal funding to provide health services to Utah's migrant and seasonal farmworker population. With this funding, CHC provides medical, dental, health education, and outreach services through Utah Farm Worker Program (UFWH). UFWH also refers patients to other existing health care providers and resources.

Unique Characteristics
UFWH is based on the primary care model. The program maintains a year-round clinic one full day a week at the Brigham City site in northern Utah's Box Elder County. UFWH also provides regular dental services two days a week and one evening a month at the Brigham City site. Additionally, UFWH supports year-round primary care of farmworkers through contracts with Midtown Community Health Center and Mountainlands Community Health Center. Emergency dental and other speciality care is provided through contract with community providers.

New Developments
Application has been made by UFWH to join the Bureau of Primary Health Care's Health Disparities Collaboratives. Increased community collaborations have been undertaken to reach additional farmworkers, coordinate services, increase public health insurance enrollment, and engage in HIV/AIDS testing programs. Finally, UFWH has developed a program with Utah's Head Start to provide access to fluoride varnish for the children of migrant farmworkers.
