AmeriCorps

The mission of AmeriCorps and the Medically Underserved in Utah (AMUU) is to reduce economic, geographic, cultural, and language barriers to health care and to expand primary care services for the medically underserved populations of Utah. AMUU participants, called "members," assist in Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) outreach and enrollment, coordinate care with agencies and health care providers in the community, coordinate immunization clinics, educate patients about HIV/STI infections, assist clients in obtaining donated pharmaceuticals, recruit volunteers, and offer bilingual health information sessions on a variety of topics.
