Webinar - Diabetes Medication Access for the Underinsured and Uninsured Patient

By attending this webinar, participants will discuss the prevalence and burden of diabetes in both the U.S. and Utah, evaluate the state of Utah's lack of access to care, recognize barriers that exist for patients living with minimal access to care, identify resources available for patients with limited access to obtain medications, explore the dangers and limitations of obtaining medications online and beyond borders, and review strategies for various healthcare providers to utilize in providing quality of care for patients.

Presenter: Victoria Tolentino, PharmD

Bio:

Victoria Tolentino is the current community pharmacy Resident for Smith’s Food and Drug and Roseman University, based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. As a Southern California native, she received her BA in Biology from California State University, San Bernardino. She earned her PharmD from Roseman University in South Jordan, Utah in 2016. Her pharmacy career began early at age 18 as a clerk. She later transitioned to a technician, then intern, and now Pharmacist with a strong dedication to patient centered care, public health and expanding the role of the community pharmacist. Some of her research and residency endeavors have included promoting awareness on topics such as mental health and HPV vaccination, and reducing the stigmas associated with them. you.She and her husband currently reside in Sandy, Utah.
