C-level leadership including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Human Resources

As a follow-up to the AUCH Workforce Summit, ElementOne Consulting is holding an intensive one-day session and subsequent office hours to address the on-going challenges in the current labor market for recruitment and retention. Health centers need to continuously innovate and think strategically well beyond “what will it cost to hire my next Medical Assistant.” The objective of this program is to introduce participants to the strategies and concepts needed to successfully position their health centers for today and the future, as listed below.

  • Key Components of a New Labor Market Compensation Program – With market data becoming less and less reliable, and current/potential employees with more opportunities than ever, ensuring pay is “equitable” is essential. We will examine three key aspects of compensation program design to enable health centers to “predict” the right pay for each employee and potential candidate.
  • Understanding a health center’s “Real” Capacity – “Workforce” isn’t Human Resources, it’s a business process that requires understanding how organization design, staffing, compensation, and performance management all come together, and continuously change. Understanding your actual workforce capacity is a starting point to identify opportunities to become more efficient and productive.
  • Responses to the New Market – The COVID pandemic did not create the labor market dynamics, which were already in play. COVID did exacerbate the existing problem, and there is no real belief that it will ever go back to the way it was. The experience of organizations in reacting to their recruiting and retention efforts will be discussed, as well as what were “hits” and “misses”.
