IUD training
This training will provide an overview of Intrauterine Devices (IUDs), contraceptive counseling, Medical Eligibility Criteria and contraindications, and hands-on training for hormonal and copper IUDs. This training is for physicians and advanced clinicians (MD, DO, PA, WHNP, FNP, DNP, CNM).
It is important that FQHC providers become trained on IUDs and implants as starting January 1st, the Medicaid Family Planning Waiver will go into effect and we estimate 50,000 uninsured women will become eligible for Medicaid-funded contraceptive care, including IUDs and implants. Many of these women are currently patients at Health Centers and we want to ensure the clinics are able to meet the needs of their newly eligible patients.
