It is very important that FQHC providers become trained on IUDs and implants because starting January 1^st, the Medicaid Family Planning Waiver will go into effect and we estimate 50,000 uninsured women will become eligible for Medicaid-funded contraceptive care, including IUDs and implants. Many of these women are currently patients at AUCH member clinics and we want to ensure the clinics are able to meet the needs of their newly eligible patients.
