CHAMPS 2018 Immunization Update Webcast

CHAMPS is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2018 Immunization Update. 

This year’s annual immunization webcast will be presented by JoEllen Wollicki, RN, BSN, from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This event is intended to update healthcare personnel on the latest recommended immunization schedules and the most recent Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) immunization recommendations.

Target Audience: Clinical and clinical support staff at federally-funded health centers (FQHCs) in Region VIII including physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, MAs, and other interested health care professionals.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe at least one change made to the recommended childhood/adolescent immunization schedule for 2018
• Explain the changes made to hepatitis A immunization recommendations for children traveling internationally
• State which patients can receive the 2-dose HPV series
• Explain the updated zoster recommendations for adults 50 years of age or older
• Describe at least 1 best practice strategy to prevent vaccine administration errors 

Immunization Webcast Costs: CHAMPS live distance learning events are FREE for health centers (Health Center Program Grantees) and Primary Care Associations (PCAs) in Region VIII (CO, MT, ND, SD, UT, and WY), including computer link and CME credit. Please visit the Region VIII Health Centers and PCAs page to determine if your organization qualifies for free participation in live CHAMPS distance learning events.  All other participants will be billed $75 per link and $15 per CME certificate requested.

Credit:  1.5 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) Credit through American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has been applied for.  Attendees must participate in the full live event and complete the evaluation survey to be eligible to receive credit.
